Course 1 (3 Sessions) - Management and HR/Recruiting and Hiring Best Practices/Employee Development
Elizabeth Brackett, Brackett HR
- Monday Morning - The Top 5 Mistakes Managers Make and How to Avoid Them
Being a manager can be tough-especially when it comes to navigating tricky HR responsibilities. Did you know that over 45% of managers admit to feeling unprepared to handle employee issues effectively? Many employers have learned the hard way. And mistakes can be costly: last year, employers paid almost $500 million to resolve EEOC discrimination claims alone. In this workshop, we'll break down the most common mistakes-like mishandling employee performance issues, ignoring wage and hour compliance, and failing to accommodate employees' medical conditions-and give you practical strategies to avoid these issues. You'll walk away with the tools to create a compliant workplace, avoid HR headaches, and keep your team (and yourself) out of trouble, because avoiding mistakes is always better than fixing them later!. Let's make managing easier-join us! - Monday Afternoon: Recruiting and Hiring Best Practices: Compliance and Success Strategies
Did you know that organizations with structured hiring practices are 67% more likely to improve employee retention, and replacing a bad hire can cost up to 30% of that employee's annual salary? Join our session, to learn how to make smarter hiring decisions that save time, money, and headaches. We'll learn how to use objective data into your hiring process to boost retention, aligning your hiring around the behaviors that drive success in your authority, and crafting specific job targets. You'll also learn how to use behavioral-based interviewing to narrow your candidate pool and identify the core attributes that matter most. Plus, we'll cover critical recruiting and hiring compliance issues to keep your organization protected. By the end of the class, you'll have the tools to hire better, faster, and more effectively-ensuring you're building a team that sticks. - Tuesday Morning: Creating Employee Engagement through Performance Development
Did you know that organizations that regularly conduct employee opinion surveys and act on the results see engagement levels increase by as much as 30%? and organizations with effective engagement strategies experience 59% lower turnover? Disengagement is tricky to spot, and even trickier to solve. There are tools that let you know why morale is low-from poor communication to culture issues, and how to address it. Our class is designed to help managers build stronger, more motivated teams. We'll show you how to use science-backed behavioral data to understand what drives your people and provide actionable tools to resolve conflict, build trust, and coach your employees. Learn how to use performance management tools to foster peer recognition, set clear goals, and create a culture of accountability and motivation. We'll also cover how to boost engagement through surveys, uncover key insights, and take meaningful action to improve workplace satisfaction. This class gives managers the skills to cultivate engagement, reduce turnover, and drive lasting success-one performance conversation at a time!
